According to BOSEM, this action violated Section 18(V1) of the ‘Conditions for Recognition of High Schools’ which states that “The Board may at any time, derecognize a High School...if the school is found to be recognized/ affiliated/accredited by other Boards of School Education...”.

Schools listed in Annexure 1 include National Sports Academy, Khuman Lampak; Mt Everest Higher Secondary School, Senapati; Eklavya Model Residential School in Sapermeina and Moreh among others.

Some of the schools listed in this category included, Convention English High School, Thanlon, Churachandpur; Adimjati Little English School, Imphal; St Anthony’s High School, Chingmeirong among others.

As such, the BOSEM served the show cause notice to the Managing Committees/Principals/Headmasters/Headmistress of the schools listed in Annexure I and Annexure II to ascertain why recognition or affiliation granted to the respective schools by the Board shall not be withdrawn.
