As part of the ongoing celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and CM Biren's "100 action points for the first 100 days", a block health mela was organised at various places of Kangpokpi on Thursday.
The block health mela held at Maphou Kuki village under Island block in Sadar Hills East Kangpokpi district was attended by the local MLA Kimneo Haokip Hangshing as chief guest and Dr J Touthang, District Immunization Officer, Kangpokpi attended as Functional Presidents while Syed Amzad Ali Khan, MCD, SDO Island and Lhungtin Block and Lhunkholal Lupho, chief of Maphou Kuki village attended as Guest of honours.
The health mela organised by Block Health Society, Saikul Island Block was attended by Dr K Bipin Singh, MO i/c PHC Maphou, and various civil bodies leaders and village chiefs.
The local MLA handed over a few health cards to the beneficiaries while many enrolled for the health card on the occasion.
MLA Kimneo Haokip Hangshing also inspected various health centres in the area and took stock of the situation while appreciating the medical staff of PHC Maphou and assured to look after their requirements.
Block Health Mela was also on Thursday held at Twisomyang village un Lhungtin Block in Sadar Hills East, Saikul where ex-vice Chairman of ADC Sadar Hills, Thangjakam Misao attended the occasion on behalf of the local MLA Kimneo Haokip Hangshing as chief guest while Syed Amzad Ali Khan, MCS, SDO Lhungtin Block and Paolam Haokip, Secretary of Bungpi Area Chief Association attended as Functional President and Guest of Honour respectively.
In the health mela, IEC team CHC Saikul displayed IEC materials (video clip) in local dialect on common diseases as a part of health education to the citizens.
Meanwhile, Block Health Mela was organised at PHC Gamphazol in the Saitu Gamphazol block where Sapam Bishwojit Singh, MCS, SDO/BDO Saitu Gamphazol attended as Chief Guest while Dr J Touthang, DIO Kangpokpi and Lhingneikim Kipgen, ZEO Kangpokpi attended as Functional President and Guest of Honour respectively.
Sixty-four individuals were scanned ultrasound free of cost while 365 patients were examined and 118 individuals were registered for CMHT health card during the event.
General OPD, Ayush OPD, Dental OPD, ANC check-up, CMHT/PMJAY, Family planning, Food Safety, Cataract, ICDS, etc. were opened during the health mela.
Various civil society organisations leaders and village chiefs also attended the function.
