BJP workers must continue following paths of founders: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren

Chief Minister remained evasive about the induction of the remaining six council of ministers of the government.

Chief Minister Biren Singh on Wednesday appealed to the workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to continue following the path of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, Syama Prasad Mukherjee, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi while serving the people.

Addressing the media on the sideline of the 42nd Foundation Day observation of the BJP at state head office located at Nityaipat Chuthek, Imphal, Biren said that under the initiatives of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya BJP was established and with the contribution of Syama Prasad Mukherjee, Article 371 was withdrawn from Kashmir. Later, with the ideology established by Atal Bihari Vajpayee, BJP started changing the political scenario of the country for a better, well-developed country during his tenure as prime minister, he added.

In 2014, Narendra Modi became Prime Minister of the country and since then, under his leadership, the BJP has been able to serve in most parts of the country. With the contribution of the Modi government, the country has become one of the most powerful countries in defence systems and others, Biren added.
The chief minister also called on the workers of the BJP to follow the path of founders of BJP with cooperation in order to bring a well-developed country.

However, the chief minister declined to respond to a query from the media as to when the remaining Six council of ministers of the government were going to be inducted.

On March 21, five council of ministers, including one from Naga People’s Front (NPF) and Chief Minister Biren Singh, were sworn in at the Manipur Raj Bhavan by governor, La Ganesan.
State president of BJP, A Sharda Devi said that based on integral humanism, the BJP has been serving the people.

The party also won a majority in the recent 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly due to the belief and support of the party and its workers.

It has been the demand of the people of north eastern state, including Manipur, to withdraw AFSPA and implement ILP in the Manipur, Sharda said, adding that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the ILP was implemented in Manipur and that disturbed area status has been reduced from the north-eastern state too.

The state BJP extends its gratitude to the central party leaders for giving priority while bringing welfare and development for the country, the president said.

As a part of the ceremony, a procession was held from its state head office passing through Raj Bhavan, western gate of Kangla, Paona Bazaar and ending at state BJP head office.
