BJP national general secretary CT Ravi, who arrived in Imphal in a part of its two day visit to the state, attended the BJP executive meeting at the office of BJP Thoubal district in Khongjom on Monday.
At the event, CT Ravi stressed on the need to build an organisation which is inclusive of all communities, in order to serve the public.
Setting the target for BJP to achieve a landslide victory in all grass root level elections, including the Lok Sabha election, CT Ravi expressed that besides Narendra Modi at the Centre and N Biren at the state, more such leaders are required for each district to maintain a good relationship with one another. Efficient leaders must be kept at each booth, he said.
One cannot become a good leader by simply holding a post; one has to work for the public and gain the trust of the people, he added.
After the district executive meeting, the BJP officials led by CT Ravi visited the Khongjom War Memorial Complex and offered floral tributes to Paona Brajabashi.
The meeting was attended by Heirok assembly constituency MLA Th Radheshyam, Wangjing- Tentha MLA Paonam Brojen, BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda, state general secretary P Premananda, state secretary Kh Inaocha Devi and BJP Thoubal district president Y Kumarjit, among others.
The event was also attended by executive members of the district, president of the Mandal, secretary and BJP candidates who contested the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly from different assembly constituencies from the district.
