Birth anniversary of writer Keke Wahengbam observed
Keke Wahengbam, who survived cancer, assure to serve the differently-abled persons and encouraged the blind people to never lose home and strive for success in their passions.

‘Mit Udraba singda Kathoklaba Keke Wahengbam gi Mapok Kumon Thouram’ as a part of birth anniversary of former announcer of AIR, Imphal and writer Keke Wahengbam was organised by Like Minded Group (LMG), Manipur on Wednesday.
The ceremony organised along with Longjam Brothers and Sisters Charitable Trust was held at the community hall at Thanga Ngaram Leikai in Bishnupur district, stated a release.
The event was attended by LMG Manipur secretary Ojit Sorokhaibam; entrepreneur Sagolshem Sanathoi; proprietor of Solar Home Lighting System Manglem Waikhom; proprietor of Khagemba Medical Store and Waikhom Medicos, Konung Mamang Imphal Mandakini Takhellambam; singer Eteen Maibam; social activist and founder of Longjam Brothers and Sisters Charitable Trust Yaiphaba Leo; and retired music teacher Ganerjit Thongam; along with LMG assistant secretary Ningombam Ranibala Leima, member Waikhom Bihari, Maibam Premojit, Salam (O) Bhajani, Sobita Maibam, it stated.
Speaking on the occasion, Keke Wahengbam extended appreciation for the organisers for their initiative and stated that he is blessed to have survived cancer. He will always serve the differently-abled persons, he further said and encouraged the blind people to never lose home and strive for success in their passions, it mentioned.
LMG publicity secretary Rakesh Naorem recalled the various philanthropist works carried out by the group, he appealed to the public to support the group, it stated. He invited the public to join the group in providing helping hands to the differently abled persons and underprivileged section of the society, it added.
