Biren-led BJP government strengthening Manipur's integrity: JP Nadda in Imphal
The BJP national president said that the double-engine BJP government is always focused on the triple ‘P’ i.e Peace, Prosperity and Protection.

BJP national president JP Nadda arrived in Imphal on Thursday and joined a massive rally of youths at BASIC ground in Kakching district, during which, he said the Biren-led BJP government of the state is making progress towards strengthening the integrity of the state.
He further said, before the Biren-led government came to power, the people used to visit the homes of officers, but now the officers are making door-to-door visits of people.
“We do not want insurgency, we want stability. We do not want the politics of divide and rule. We want prosperity; we do not want drugs; we want sports and peace,” he said.
He further announced that under the national old age pension scheme, the state government has provided benefits to 1 lakh senior citizens. As many as 3.5 individuals have received benefits from Ayushman Bharat, he added.
Concerning the law and order situation in the state, he said that the state used to exist under year-long blockades but it is no longer the case now. Approximately, 1,309 youths gave up their arms and came to mainstream life; they are stepping towards a new Manipur. CM Biren’s ‘Miyamgi gi Numit’ (The Peoples’ Day) has brought the people of the state together, he added.
He said, the ministers, MLAs are also lending their ears to the peoples’ grievances. Reminding the youths about the ‘War against Drugs,’ undertaken by the government, he said that around 11,600 acres of illegal poppy farms have been destroyed.
Announcing that the Loktak Development project has been approved, he further said that Manipur is heading towards economic development.
He further assured that development shall go hand in hand with integration. There is more closeness between the hills and the valley. The integrity of the state and its culture has been protected; ILP has been implemented with Biren-led government’s ideal of protecting the state’s integrity, he added.
He further said that a railway line from Jiribam to Imphal via Tupul is being constructed while the National Sports University is also under construction. He also reminded that the Prime Minister has also inaugurated a Multi sports complex.
JP Nadda further said that the double-engine BJP government is always focused on the triple ‘P’ i.e Peace, Prosperity and Protection. “On the contrary, the Congress government was going along with blockades and bandhs. Whatever good the BJP has done so far is the answer to Congress party’s mis-governance,” he added.
There was a total of Rs 10,900 crore in the budget introduced by the previous government five years ago. Now, it has been increased to Rs 21,224 crore. Previously, only Rs. 154 crore was sanctioned for irrigation but now a total of Rs 303 crore has been spent, he mentioned. In the education sector, the budget has been increased from Rs. 1324 crore to 2555 crore, he added.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, as many as 31 crore youths of the total 135 crore population have been provided loans by the Modi government, he further said.
At the occasion, N Biren urged the people of the state to deeply analyse the changes brought by the BJP government. Mentioning about the challenges faced in running a coalition government, he urged people to support BJP candidates so that a single BJP government can be formed.
The rally was taken part by Rajya sabha MP, maharaja Leishemba Sanajaoba; Works Minister Th Biswajit; Education Minister S Rajen; former MLA Bishnupur assembly constituency K Govindash; MLA Hiyanglam assembly constituency Y Radheshyam; MLA Kakching assembly constituency M Rameshwor; president BJYM Manipur pradesh M Barish Sharma and national leaders of the party.
Meanwhile, the rally at Kakching was flagged off by president BJP Thoubal district Y Kumarjit from Khongjom.
