The Baptist Churches Union of India (BCUI) has appealed to all the sections of the citizens of violence-hit Manipur to maintain peace and tranquility in the state.

Baptist Churches Union of India chairman Reverend Aluana Gonmei in a statement said that the burning down of churches in the state is condemnable. Church is a religious organisation and stands for peace, he said.
Destruction and killing will not bring any peaceful solution, but they will remain as a bitter scar among our brothers, he added.
