The indefinite bandh along the Tiddim Road called by JAC against Unnatural Death of Th Ibohalbi was withdrawn after an understanding was reached between the state officials and JAC members.

JAC convenor Ch Anoubi said at a press meet held at Oinam Mamang Leikai on Wednesday that a resolution was taken to call the bandh, condemning the suspicious death of Th Ibohalbi from Oinam Mamang Leikai on August 11 at his posting place of 5th MR at Khongjarol under Tamenglong district.

The JAC members met N Biren Singh in the presence of MLA, Oinam assembly constituency I Nalini Devi and Works Minister Govindas Konthoujam on Tuesday.

The JAC is aware that calling bandh and blockades causes suffering to the general public but the situation compelled them to carry it out, the convenor added.
