There are various Kabui dance forms and all the dance forms have a specific song, he said, adding that breaking the code of the song and the dance seems to be inappropriate.

Stating that performing the Kabui dance using the genuine dress code and song will be more beautiful, he appealed to the concerned dance teachers and costume designers to stop breaking the dress and song code of the Kabui dance.

A person's community is represented by the traditional costumes and culture, he said adding, “Let’s stop casting one’s traditional costumes and dance wrongly”.

Art and culture secretary of Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts and Cultural Society (KIMACS) L Sanjit said that show casting one’s traditional costumes wrongly will misguide the whole public and also hurt the sentiments of the particular community.
