An ‘Awareness Campaign on Conservation of Wildlife’ including their habitat was held at Kuilong Part II on Saturday under the aegis of Tamenglong forest division.
The awareness campaign was attended by range forest officer Tousem S Khogen Singh; range forest officer Tamei Johnson Khundrakpam; chairman Kuilong part II Hipingbou and secretary Kuilong part II Takampibou.
Several villagers also attended the awareness programme.
The compensation for the cattle killed by a tiger (Panthera tigris tigris) during the month of July had been handed over to the cattle owners, namely Suipingbou, Namsibou, P Wirikambou by the Forest department, Manipur in the presence of the village authority members.
All the camera traps installed to capture the images of the tigers in the Kuilong part II had been retrieved by the visiting forest officials.
Meanwhile, a King chilly festival of Kuilong part II was also held to promote the King chilly naturally grown without chemical fertilisers. PRO, Tamenglong Ranchamdin also attended the festival as a special guest.
