An ATM robber was expelled from Longa Koireng village under Kangpokpi district in Manipur and was fined as per the customary law.
The ATM robber identified as L Choungmiren Koireng, 19, son of L Ngamkhel Koireng of the Longa Koireng village was a loafer, stated a joint release signed by village chairman and secretary of Longa Koireng Village, Kangpokpi district, SR Sosan Koireng and W Khelsong Koireng.

Choungmiren was arrested from Langjing Bazaar for trying to break open an ATM machine at around 2.30 am on Thursday, it stated.
After a meeting was conducted by the village authority, it was resolved to expel him from the jurisdiction of the village and he was asked to pay a customary fine of five 5 cubit pig along with two big pots of local wine, it added.
