Association condoles demise of former MLA Y Thambal

The Manipur Former MLA Welfare Association extended a sum of Rs 50,000 to the bereaved family members of Yengkhom Thambal Singh, former MLA (1984-90) who passed away on July 17.

Manipur Former MLA Welfare Association on Tuesday extended its sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Yengkhom Thambal Singh, former MLA (1984-90) who passed away on Sunday (July 17) at the age of 94.

Thambal represented Kakching Assembly Constituency and was one of the oldest former MLA, He passed away at his native village, Kakching Mayai Leikai, leaving behind his wife, two sons and three daughters, said the association in a release.

He was a distinguished parliamentarian, a soft-spoken gentleman, the association said, adding that his sudden demise will be felt by many.

"It would be difficult to measure the impact he has on many peoples' lives, which were touched personally and professionally. We are falling short of words to express our deep sorrow on his sudden demise. May his soul rest in peace," the association condoled.

The association also extended a sum of Rs 50,000 to the bereaved family members and wished them courage and peace during the time of mourning.
