Tamenglong Battalion under the aegis of Jwalamukhi Sector Assam Rifles (AR) organised a Security Coordination Meeting at its Azuram post with the aim to increase bonhomie among the villagers and also to augment security consciousness in the area.
In a release, HQ IGAR (East) said that during the meeting, the Coy Commander, Azuram post highlighted the present security scenario and coordination aspects with security forces and villages along with methods for exchange of information regarding activities of anti-social elements.
The release further added that various issues related to security, education, job opportunities, health, social awareness and government schemes were discussed with the villagers along with aspects on current security situation, its impact on the civil population and remedial measures to curb the issues.
Attendees were also informed about welfare projects undertaken by the battalion in the area like medical camps, water supply schemes, sports tournaments, renovation of buildings, tree plantation drives and career guidance programs, the release stated.
The village chairman, secretaries and other authorities who attended the conference appreciated the efforts of Tamenglong Battalion and affirmed their support and commitment in maintaining the peace and tranquillity in the area.
