Tengnoupal Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(South) organised a friendly volleyball match between Assam Rifles and Youth club Kongpe village, Tengnoupal district on August 16 to commemorate the 75 years of Independence, stated a release issued by IGAR (South) on Wednesday.
Assam Rifles team won the match with a score 3-2 in an interesting competition. The players were felicitated with medals and prizes, it stated.
Meanwhile, Loktak Battalion under the aegis of IGAR (S) extended life saving medical assistance to a snake bite victim of Khoirentak village, Churachandpur district, Manipur on Wednesday, it stated.
One Akimkom, a 29-year-old woman was bitten by a venomous snake on her right foot and was having symptoms of gross local swelling and fever. The individual was rushed by villagers to the Unit hospital of Assam Rifles at Kangvai.
The medical staff examined and immediately rendered life saving medical care to the individual along with anti snake venom administration and stabilised her condition, it further stated. The lady was referred to District hospital for further management, it added.
