Khoupum Battalion Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters 21 Sector Assam Rifles and Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) organised COVID-19 awareness drive to educate and empower the locals in fighting the pandemic from May 4 to May 6.

The helpline number of the battalion was also provided for any help during the pandemic. A total of 25 villages were covered in three days.

A release said that during the campaign, a mobile van with laud-hailer in local dialect imparted COVID-19 awareness which included importance of regular hand washing, wearing of mask, social distancing and importance of vaccination in 25 villages. The helpline number of the battalion was also provided for any help during the pandemic. A total of 25 villages were covered in three days.
During the awareness drive, necessary COVID-19 precautions such as social distancing and wearing of masks were observed, it added.
