AR helps accident victims

The troops of Chassad Battalion (Somsai Sector) Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) helped the victims of a road accident in the remote Chattrik area of Kamjong district on Friday, said a release issued by HQ IGAR (South).

A Shaktiman truck carrying sand along with five passengers from Chattrik Khullen to Kamjong lost control while negotiating a hairpin bend downslope and toppled off the road, it stated. It happened around 11 am, it said. A passenger, Leishingam fell off the vehicle and sustained severe facial injuries, the release said. The other passengers too sustained minor injuries, it added.

The region has been facing incessant rains since past two, the release further said adding a team of one officer and 11 troops including a nursing assistant of the Chattrik post of Assam Rifles immediately rushed to the accident site on receiving the information.  The team provided continuous medical aid to the victims and evacuated them to CHC Kamjong for further medical treatment, it added.
