AR celebrates Independence Day at children home

At Agape Children's Home, Kangpokpi the celebration started with the customary National Flag hoisting ceremony followed by the National Anthem.

Jwalamukhi Battalion, COB Kangpokpi and Motbung under the aegis of 22 Sector, IGAR (E) celebrated India's 75th Independence Day at Agape Children's Home Kangpokpi and Kanglatongbi Children Home respectively.

At Agape Children's Home, Kangpokpi the celebration started with the customary National Flag hoisting ceremony followed by the National Anthem. Sweets were distributed to the children after the ceremony.

The celebration was followed by a drawing competition under the theme 'Mera Bharat Mahan' where the children were provided with crayons as well as drawing materials. A total of 56 students participated in the drawing competition and three children whose drawings were selected as the best were felicitated along with the youngest children who participated in the event.

After the drawing competition, a lunch was arranged for all the inmates of the home. The Assam rifle personnel distributed the lunch to the children and had lunch alongside them.

The Assam Rifles also distributed rice and sugar to the children which was contributed by the personnel of the COB.  At Motbung, the 75th anniversary of Indian Independence was celebrated with religious fervour by the Assam Rifles along with the various orphans at various orphanages.

The event was marked by National Flag hoisting in COB and Kanglatongbi Children Home, Damdei. Sweets and snacks were later distributed at all children's homes and old age homes in the Motbung area. 

Earlier, COB Motbung of Jwalamukhi Bn under the aegis of 22Sec AR/IGAR(E) also distributed essential aid to the orphanages of the areas. The essential aid was distributed to Compassion Children Home, Taloulong and Kanglatongbi Children Home, Damdei.
