An Anti-Drug Bike Rally themed ‘No to Drugs, Yes to Life’ was organised by Social Welfare Association Sangaiyumpham at Sangaiyumpham under Khangabok assembly constituency in Thoubal district on Sunday.
The bike rally was launched by Khangabok assembly constituency MLA Okram Surjakumar from Cherapur Salam Makok. After covering the entire Sangaiyumpham area, the bike rally concluded at Idigah Lampak.
The launching programme was attended by Thoubal Zilla Parishad adhyaksha Hasina Begum, Thoubal District Police SP Jogeshchandra Haobijam, Sangaiyumpham Zilla Parishad member Md Hibjur Rahman, Sangaiyumpham Part Gram Panchayat pradhan Md Wahidur Rahman and SWA president Md Ziaur Rahman.
On the occasion, MLA Surjakumar extended appreciation to Thoubal Police and members of the local self government for the successful launch, on behalf of the people of Sangaiyumpham. He urged the people to join forces with the authorities in the War on Drugs 2.0.
SWA and MSDO Sangaiyumpham Central Committee chairman Md Zamir Khan highlighted the importance of the bike rally, and informed the people to provide proper consultation to the youth who have fallen into the grasp of drug abuse.
During a meeting held at the conclusion of the rally, the attendees decided to form an ‘Anti-Drug Association’. The attendees also concluded to hold a meeting with all clubs under ANJUMAN and UDC at Idigah Lampak at Sangaiyumpham promptly.
In the bike rally, placards which read ‘Let's stop using drugs' were also displayed.
