The All Naga Students’ Association Manipur (ANSAM) on Thursday held its 3rd and final legislative assembly for the tenure 2022-24 at the Community Hall of Chandel Christian Village in Chandel district. The assembly was hosted by Anal Lenruwl Tangpi, General Headquarter (ALT-GHQ), an apex student body of the Anal Naga community.

Attended by over 100 delegates from all the student bodies of various Naga tribes of Manipur who are under ANSAM, the assembly tabled and discussed various agendas such as illegal immigrants, Indo-Naga political issues, etc.

During the assembly, the house put forth the resolutions from the 2nd Legislative Assembly, endorsed and passed it. And with the term of the current tenure coming to an end in December this year, some members of the house called for an extension of their term.

However, this was opposed by a majority of the members and hence, a committee was selected to look into that matter for the next tenure especially with the election.

Welcoming the members, ALT GHQ president Bd. Ningwar Anal called for the unity of Nagas all over stating that the Nagas were a critical point where even students have to play vital roles.

“...the Nagas are at a critical point of time where students need to play a major role in shaping our Nagalim. And it is assemblies such as this with agendas and topics on illegal immigrants, Indo-Naga political issues, etc. that will enlighten us all and shape our future,” the ALT GHQ president said.

He also called for putting “our minds and hearts together for the cause and betterment of our Nagalim”. In that, let us put aside our differences, if any. As in the old adage “United We Stand, Divided We Call”, this day calls for us to be united and work together for Nagalim. It is only through unity that we can move forward and achieve our target, he said.
