AMWJU team visits family of late Thotshang Shaiza

The team interacted with the bereaved family members by maintaining SOPs and provided financial aid.

A five-member All Manipur Working Journalists Union (AMWJU) team led by its advisory committee member Sobhabati Samon and acting secretary Khundrakpam Jyotindro visited the family of deceased senior journalist late Thotshang Shaiza at his Viewland residence in Ukhrul on Wednesday. 

The team interacted with the bereaved family members by maintaining SOPs and provided financial aid. The family expressed their gratitude to AMWJU team for taking the trouble to visit them.

The senior journalist suffered from COVID-19 complications as he developed a severe lung infection. He was referred to JNIMS from Ukhrul district hospital on June 10 after his condition worsened. Shaiza was tested COVID-19 positive on June 4. He was 52.

Thotshang Shaiza joined journalism in 2009 and had served the district's press fraternity in varied capacities as its president for consecutive two terms and as district correspondent for ISTV. He was UDWJA advisor and a district correspondent for The Aja Daily till he breathed his last.
