The All Manipur Women’s Voluntary Association (AMAWOVA) has strongly condemned the recent incidents in which an 11-year-old was allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted by a non-local in Imphal while another eight-year-old minor was sexually assaulted in Tengnoupal district.

Committing of such crimes while the people are suffering from the pandemic should not be taken lightly, AMAWOVA stated in a release signed by its general secretary Ksh Sujata. Urging that all forms of criminal activities on innocent children must be stopped at all costs, it appealed to the authorities concerned to give appropriate punishment against the perpetrators.
