Director of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, professor A Santa inaugurated a newly installed Advanced CT Scan (Siemens) at New OPD Block of the hospital and another newly installed Advanced CT Scan (Phillips) at Trauma Center, RIMS Hospital on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, the RIMS director stated that the two machines are capable of sophisticated imaging such as Artificial Intelligence enabled, Cardiac CT/coronary angiography, Perfusion analysis of brain for stroke and Brain tumors, Neuro-vascular angiography, Peripheral vascular angiography, Renal angiography, Paediatric imaging, Dual Energy CT for implants, foreign bodies and characterisation of Renal stones, imaging of Gout to detect uric acid crystal non-invasively, High speed image acquisition, higher and better image Quality, Lower Radiation exposure to patient and other routinely done CT-Scaning of different body parts in short duration.
He further said that RIMS Hospital has priority of opening up World Class Modular OT and also planning to inaugurate Burn Unit and Psychiatry Building.
RIMS medical superintendent, professor N Sanjib and Head of Radiodiagnosis department, RIMS professor S Subhaschandra Singh were also present during the occasion.
