The workshop was organised by the Shija Hospital in collaboration with the Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India (AMASI) and Association of Surgery of India (ASI) Manipur State Branch.

The online live demonstration was viewed by the junior surgeons at RIMS in Imphal West where they were able to raise any queries or doubts.

Highlighting the motive of the workshop to the media during a press conference held at Shija Hospital in Langol, Imphal East, senior surgeon Dr Jugindra Sorokhaibam said it is an initiative to inculcate the safest mode of keyhole surgery to the young doctors.

In this process the young doctors can grasp the correct procedure of keyhole surgery in a better way in this era where online educational programmes have become a reality. Besides, it enables the academic events to attract a larger number of young surgeons, he added.

As per the schedule, the workshop programme will conclude on Saturday with a lecture programme by experts on the surgeries conducted on Friday.
