A team of Kakching police on Sunday arrested one absconding vehicle lifter along with three stolen two wheeler vehicles hidden in his residence at Sora Awang Leikai in Thoubal district.
According to police, based on a tip off a team of commando unit Kakching police led by inspector Md Abash Khan raided the residence of one Md Azad Khan, 25, son Md Amjad Ali from Sora Awang Leikai. The team arrested Md Azad Khan and recovered three two wheeler vehicles suspected to be stolen, it added.
It informed that the details of the recovered vehicles are one Royal Enfield Classic 350 (red colour) bearing registration number DL4SDM-5923, chassis number #ME3J3C5FEN2024705# and engine number J3A5FEN2633151; one Royal Enfield Meteor 350 (black colour) without registration number, chassis number #ME3J3A5FGN2008541# and engine number J3A5FGN2388382 and one KTM Duke (black colour) bearing registration number AS03AD-0473, chassis number MD2JPEXC2LC084641 and engine number L-937*05138#.
As Md Azad could not provide the proper documents of the vehicles, the police arrested him and seized the vehicles by observing all the necessary legal formalities, it added.
It continued that Md Azad Khan informed that one Royal Enfield Meteor 350 was brought by Md Anish Khan, 22, son of Md Anwar Khan from Moreh Ward no V from Sora Chingya Leikai. Then the police team rushed to the area and arrested one Md Anish Khan from Sora Chingya Leikai, it added. He then disclosed that he received the motorcycle from one Boboi from Lilong to sell to a buyer from Moreh, Myanmar, it mentioned.
The arrested individuals along with the recovered vehicles were handed over to Kakching police station for further necessary legal action, it added.
