District election officer Imphal West Th Kirankumar on Monday appealed to the representatives of the candidates and political parties to abide by the rules and guidelines of the Election Commission of India (ECI) while campaigning for the upcoming election.
He was speaking at the meeting cum training of District MCMC, Imphal West with representatives of candidates/political parties that was held at Kombirei Hall, DC Office Complex, Lamphelpat, Imphal West in view of the ensuing 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly Elections, 2022, stated a release.
The meeting was convened by district election officer/DC, Imphal West Th Kirankumar. During the meeting, matters related to certification of advertisements by District MCMC, Covid-19 related requirements in the entire election process and other election related matters were minutely discussed, it stated.
He appraised the members present about the role and functions of District MCMC during the election process, it mentioned.
The district election officer also appealed to the representatives and political agents of candidates and parties to get vaccinated for the smooth functioning of the election process, it further stated. He also stressed the need for hundred percent vaccination of the first dose of Covid vaccine by all persons involved in the electoral process.
Training on Media Certification was also held after the meeting. Nodal officer, Media Kishan Longjam elaborately stated about the procedure required in the process for certification of advertisement through MCMC, it continued.
Besides the representatives of candidates/political parties, the meeting was also attended by editor, Poknapham G Robindro Sharma; editor, AIR News Jogendra Thokchom who are members of District MCMC, along with representatives of Imphal Municipal Corporation, it added.
