Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Manipur on Saturday announced that state AAP members will hold a protest at Thambal Shanglen (state BJP head office) on Sunday against Prime Minister Modi's alleged involvement in the ‘Adani scandal’.
AAP Manipur Activity coordinator Bishwanath Thingnam told the media at AAP office in Moirangkhom that state AAP units across the nation will carry out the protest at their respective state BJP headquarters on Sunday.
He alleged PM Narendra Modi of aiding Adani in “exploiting the numerous resources of the country.” He highlighted that Adani’s net worth skyrocketed ever since BJP came to power. Bishwanath questioned how Adani was able to accumulate such a disproportionate amount of wealth over a short period. “Narendra Modi green lighted Adani to exploit all the resources and people by allowing him to accumulate magnanimous amounts of wealth,” he further alleged.
He further questioned whether the whole plan was a strategy to buy off and recruit elected legislators to the BJP. He demanded the union government to hand over the Adani case to central investigation agencies and appealed to Prime Minister Modi not to evade the demand any further.
Speaking on state issues, Bishwanath pointed to the possibility of a well organised ‘water mafia’ operating in Manipur. He questioned how private water tankers have been regularly running service when government water supplies have been disrupted.
He appealed to authorities concerned to map out a scientific approach to resolve the issue at the earliest.
