Manipur Agriculture Minister Th Biswajit Singh on Saturday informed the House that the government will adopt a new mechanism with Aadhaar Seeding for each farmer so that the fertilisers can be made available abundantly at the time of need and issues can be solved.
He was responding to the starred question of opposition MLA Surjakumar Okram during the question hour of the ongoing session of 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly.
Biswajit said that there are approximately 1,95,000 hectares of paddy cultivated areas for kharif crops in the state and a total of 2,53,738 fertilizers had been issued in the entire state for 2022-23 till July 28.
Responding to a starred question of the opposition MLA, he said that to monitor the fertilizer and make it easily available in time, the state government will start aadhaar seeding for each farmer so that the issue concerning fertilizers can be handled.
The mechanism of the fertilizer distribution system will start from the next year’ Kharif crop season, he added.
