98 more test COVID-19 positive in Manipur

Manipur's COVID-19 confirmed caseload mounted to 1,38,984, while the death toll remained 2,129, as per the latest update.

Manipur on Friday reported 98 new COVID-19 positive cases, taking the state's cumulative confirmed cases to 1,38,984, while the death toll remained 2,129 with no reports of fatalities across the state, official sources said.

According to the latest update by the COVID-19 Common Control Room, the number of active cases as on Friday was 615.

The new positive cases from the general population included 12 from Imphal East, while Imphal West reported 41, Thoubal – 12, Bishnupur - nine, Kakching - five, Kangpokpi and Tamenglong two each, Jiribam, Ukhrul and Senapati one each, Churachandpur - nine and Chandel -three.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release stated.

As many as 73 people were reported recovered. With it, the cumulative number of recoveries reached 1,36,240. The recovery rate is 98.03 per cent, it added.

Meanwhile, a total of 1o6 D-type oxygen cylinders and 12 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur as of July 28.

The number of beds available at JNIMS is 16 of 38 total beds, while at RIMS, it is 24 of 62 total beds as of Friday.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 30,96,213 (first dose: 16,12,607, second dose: 12,85,097 and precautionary dose: 1,98,509.

The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 62.19 per cent and for the second dose is 53.93 per cent, it mentioned.
