Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) on Monday stated that the 88th Anniversary of Zeliangrong Solidarity Day, in commemoration of Zeliangrong Solidarity Day (Chukthoibe, Chukthoibo, Chuksumei) of April 1, 1934, was organised by Zeliangrong Civil Organisation (ZCO) at Longjang (Thangal) village, Noney district on Monday.

In a release, ZB (AMN) stated that Zeliangrong Civil Organisation chose Langjong village as the venue of the programme in honour of late Tingnampou Pamei who was one of the 37 Zeliangrong leaders who attended the Zeliangrong Solidarity Day of April 1, 1934 in Tamenglong district.
The event commenced with candle lighting by Longjang village Customary Court chairman Khangluangai Pamei, it added. The programme was led by Zeliangrong Youth Front (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) vice president Luikambou Newmai while president of the youth front M Lunglailung delivered the welcome address to the gathering, it mentioned.
Speaking on the occasion ZCO president Poupoklung Kamei recalled the solidarity pledge of the Zeliangrong Solidarity Day of April 1, 1934 and highlighted the importance of the unity of the Zeliangrong people, it continued.

It further stated that the commemoration programme was attended by leaders of Zeliangrong Civil Organisations (ZCOs), village elders, village authority members, women’s leaders, leaders of villages youth club well-wishers etc.
Many village elders, chairmen and members of village authorities who attended the programme raised issues pertaining to Zeliangrong people living in Assam, Manipur and Nagaland and requested the leaders of ZCO to work for the resolution of the confusions, it added.
