A total of 54 stranded Myanmar nationals in India follwoing the COVID-19 lockdown were repatriated on Wednesday.
Among the stranded Myanmar nationals, 50 of them were at Kawnpui and Ngatal village of Churachandpur district, while other four were in Imphal.
Of the 54 Myanmar nationals, 13 are from Thamanar village, Myonwar township, 10 from Pyan Kyar village, Myonwar township, two from Baw Ka village, Myonwar township, one from Loi Poine village, Ka Ni township/Sagaing, five from Kho Than village, Myonwar township, four from Te Kyi Gome village, Myonwar township, two from Chin Pin The village, Myonwar township, two from Htan Pin Hal village, Myonwar township, two from Your Taung village, Myonwar township, one from Taung Phu Lu village, Myonwar township, one from Ta Man Far village, Myonwar township, two from Chin Thar Gone Village, Myonwar township, three from Khampat, Tamu township, three from Letpachung village, Kalay township, one from Pyantawoo village, Kalay township and two from Son Khone village, Myonwar township.
Thermal screenings of the Myanmar nationals were conducted by a medical team from Moreh Hospital at the Integrated Check Post (ICP), Moreh and Immigration and Custom department verified their necessary documents. Later, they were dropped at Indo-Myanmar Friendship Bridge.
Additional SP (Law and Order), Sangboi Gangte, ICP manager, Robin Gangte, senior immigration officer, 43 AR, Krishna Anand and staff of Immigration and Custom department were present when the Myanmar nationals were handed over to the Myanmar authority at the Friendship bridge.
