The 51st annual conference of Indian Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (IAPMR) kicked off on Thursday at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS). With the theme ‘Future directions of PMR’, the conference will be held for three days at RIMS Jubilee Hall.
Speaking on the occasion, RIMS director Dr H Priyosakhi, stated that PMR is an ever expanding field with limitless scope for growth. She highlighted that RIMS had produced altogether 45 post graduate students who had achieved various national and international awards.
The RIMS director also emphasised the need for discussions and discourse on PMR to propel the field towards progress and development. Priyosakhi pointed out that PMR is a vital department for elderly patients.
President of IAPMR Dr Thirunavukkarasu Padmanabhan, former AIIMS professor and PMR head Dr Upinderpal Singh, IAPMR secretary Dr Sanjay Kumar Pandey among delegates from others were present during the inaugural function.
