Meira Paibis (Women torch bearers) of Manipur have been putting various efforts to bring peace and harmony in the state for the last 40-50 years and will be continuing to do so for the welfare of the society said, Th Ramani, president of All Manipur Social Reformation and Development Samaj (Nupi Samaj).
She was speaking on the sidelines of ‘42nd Meira Paibi Numit’ held at the Community Hall of Mayang Langjing Sorok Mapal, Imphal West on Thursday. The programme was organised by the All Manipur Social Reformation and Development Samaj (Nupi Samaj).

Stating that Meira Paibis have been conducting the movement against illicit drugs, alcohols and others, she appealed to the state government not to lift the prohibition on liquors but to rather strengthen the ban on liquors in the state.
