25 groups, 2181 cadres under SoO agreement

According to the provided information, the KNO has as many as 372 arms, 6513 ammo and 35 explosoves, where 257 arms, 2873 ammo and all 35 explosives were kept in the arm Kote and the remaining 119 arms and 3,640 ammo were used for camp protection.

Under the SoO agreement, Manipur was engaged with a total of 25 militant groups, split between the Kuki National Organisation (KNO) and the United People’s Front (UPF) with a total strength of 2,181 cadres (1,122 for KNO and 1,059 for UPF).

The data was presented by Chief Minister N Biren Singh in response to an unstarred question raised by Opposition MLA Th Lokeshwar on the first day of the Budget session of the state Assembly on the strength and armament of these groups from 2008 to 2017 and from 2018 to 2024 February.

According to the provided information, the KNO has as many as 372 arms, 6513 ammo and 35 explosoves, where 257 arms, 2873 ammo and all 35 explosives were kept in the arm Kote and the remaining 119 arms and 3,640 ammo were used for camp protection.

For the UPF, they have as many as 428 arms, 10,367 ammo and 22 explosoves, where 309 arms, 1998 ammo and all 22 explosives were kept in the arm Kote and the remaining 119 arms and 8369 ammo were used for camp protection.

The 17 militants groups under KNO are HNA, KNA, KLO/KLA, KNO/KLA, KNF(MC), KNF(S), KNF(Z), KNLF, KRA, KRA(U)/KNO, PRA, UMLA, USRA, UKRA, UTLA, ZDV/KNO and ZRF/KNO.
The eight groups under UPF are HPC(D), KNF, KRA(U)/UPF, KRF, UKLF, ZRA, ZRF/UPF and ZDV/UPF.

There are as many as seven camps for KNO groups. They are Mongbung Camp (Salem) in Churachandpur District (ΚΝΑ/ΚNO, UKRA/KNO, ΗΝΑ/ΚΝΟ, ZDV/KNO, KNF(MC), PRA); N Phaisat Camp (Gilgal) in Churachandpur District (KNF(S)/KNO); Chongkhojou Camp (Horeb) in Churachandpur District (KNF(Z)/KNO, USRA/KNO, UTLA/KNO); Nalon S Nabil Camp in Churachandpur District (KNF(MC)/ KNO, ZRF/KNO); Shamushang Camp (Sinai) in Kangpokpi District (ΚΝΑ/ΚΝO, KLA/KNO); T Gammom Camp in Kangpokpi District (KRA/KNO, KLO/KLA(KNO), KRA(U)/KNO); and Chelep Camp (Harmon) in Tengnoupal District (KNA/KNO, UMLA/KNO, PRA/KNO, KNLF/KNO).
For UPF there are as many as seven camps namely Ankhasuo Camp in Pherzawl District (HPC(D)/ UPF); Phaibatang Camp (Phaiba) Pherzawl District (ZDV/UPF, ZRA/UPF); New Teikot Camp (Muvanlai) Churachandpur District (ZRA/UPF); Muolvaiphei Camp (Nazareth) Chandel District (UKLF/UPF); Natheljang Camp (Ebenezer) Kangpokpi District (KNF(P) /UPF, KRA(U) /UPF); Thingsat Camp Kangpokpi District (KRF/UPF); and Mt Sinai Camp (Songtal) Pherzawl District (ZRA/UPF, ZRF/UPF).
