As many as 231 police personnel were rewarded with DGP commendation certificates as a token of appreciation for their commendable service and contribution in Imphal on Saturday.
The presentation of the rewards was conducted during a ‘Barakhana’ function held at the banquet hall of 1st Manipur Rifle, Babupara, Imphal.
At the event, Director General of Police P Doungel said the Manipur police department is being appreciated by the people due to the contribution and dedication by all ranks of police personnel, including the VDF towards their respective services.
Doungel said that they were able to organise such a function due to the good works done by all the ranks and supervisory officers who are guiding the police personnel.
“I expressed my joy and appreciation for the good works you all have carried out,” he said.
Recalling an incident, the DGP said that during his participation in a similar function at Assam, the Union home minister and the chief minister of Assam appreciated the good works carried out by the police personnel of Manipur in the last few months.
ADGPs, IGPs, DIGs, SPs, including other high ranking police officials, were present during the function.
As a part of the event, superintendent of police, Imphal West; Churachandpur; Kakching; Tengnoupal; Kangpokpi and CO of 2nd battalion Manipur Rifles and CO of 9th IRB made a brief presentation on the commendable activities carried out by the police personnel.
Audio visual presentations of the achievement of Manipur Police and women in Manipur Police were also made during the function.
