The 15 years of governance in the state under Congress-led government is similar to seven-year devastation in Manipur history, said state BJP president S Tikendra.
The BJP president was speaking during a reception ceremony of MAHUD Minister O Henry held on Sunday at Meitei Shanglen located at Wangkhei Khunou, Soibam Leikai, Imphal East. The function was organised by Bharatiya Janata Party-Wangkhei Mandal, Imphal East.
Tikendra said that in the last 15 years, people suffered from various problems, including economic blockade, fake encounters and Manipur had become the worst state in terms of law and order. With the coming of the BJP-led coalition government in the state, the situation has become better, including law and order, he added. He further said that the uneasy relationship between the people of the hills and valleys has also been stablised.
“For 15 years, people of the state had been living with fear due to various issues,” said Tikendra.
While appreciating the decision made by Henry in joining BJP, Tikendra said that the MAHUD minister wants to bring development in Wangkhei assembly constituency and it would only be possible under the BJP-led government in the state.
Meanwhile, another reception ceremony of councillor of Ward No. 3, Pukhrambam Geeta Devi of Lilong, Imphal West Municipal Council was held at the community hall of Chajing Heining Makhong.
The function was organised by BJP Langthabal Mandal. President of State BJP, S Tikendra Singh; MP of Lok Sabha, RK Ranjan; president of BJP Langthabal Mandal, Maibam Joykumar Singh and vice-president of BJP State Unit, RK Somorjit Singh attend the function as dais members among others.
