Imphal East district police seized a total of 13,400 bottles of cough syrup, arms and ammunition, including a vehicle with flag post and arrested two persons from Naharup Thongkhong, Imphal East on Saturday.
The arrested person has been identified as one Md Zaved Akter of Porompat Pangal Leirak and Md Zaved Kalam of Keshtri Bengoon Makha Leikai both from Imphal East district.
Police said they were arrested during an operation conducted at Naharup Thongkhong, Imphal East district on Saturday.

The police team seized 134 boxes of cough syrup containing a total of 13,400 bottles; one double barrel gun loaded with two live rounds; one flag post bearing Gypsy; two cars; one laptop and a printer from their possession.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh uploaded a video clip and some photographs in connection with the incident on his Facebook wall. “The evils who are trying to harm the society will be given befitting punishment,” he stated in his Facebook post.
