110 acres of poppy farm destroyed in Chandel

A combined force of Chandel district police, NAB, MR and SDO Chakpikarong conducted the drive at a poppy cultivation farm at the hill slope of Govok village which is about 12 km South East from the Chandel district Police Station.

A combined force of Chandel district police, NAB, MR and SDO Chakpikarong on Monday conducted a drive at a poppy cultivation farm at Govok Village and destroyed 110 acres of poppy cultivation.

It was carried out by a combined team of District Police Chandel comprising additional SP (Law and Order); sub-divisional police officer Chandel; officer in charge, Chakpikarong Police station; two teams of Chakpikarong Police station; one team of NAB, 26 personnel of 6MR, 7MR and 6 IRB led by Jemadar altogether 67 personnel led by the additional SP (Law and Order)/CDL and sub divisional officer, Chakpikarong.

A statement stated that the combined team conducted the drive at a poppy cultivation farm at the hill slope of Govok village which is about 12 km South East from the Chandel district Police Station.
