WiFi Routers under the scheme of ‘100+ WiFi Hotspots to hill areas of Manipur' were distributed at the conference hall of Mini secretariat, Tuibong, Churachandpur on Thursday.
The distribution was led by Churachandpur DC Pawan Yadav at the event where many chiefs gathered to collect the routers for village connectivity. It was organised by the department of Information Technology and District administration, Churachandpur.
The distribution was held as a second phase of the scheme, during which at least 100 villages were the target with the first phase being held in the past at City Convention Centre, Imphal.
The scheme was launched as a plan for each village to get solar plates, 24 V batteries equipped to provide 5 Mbps and V sat equipment with satellite dish and modems, which was the union government’s plan to connect 5.5 villages with WiFi facility in India.
Before the distribution, the DC of Churachandpur, on being requested, sent advanced New Year greetings to the people of Churachandpur, saying that 2021 will end soon and the New Year with new beginnings will be ushered in. Wishing the people happiness, good health and prosperity, he expressed his endeavor for developments for the District with peaceful atmospheres.
The DC also asked the people to judiciously spend the festive season, reminding that COVID-19 is not yet over and the people must follow SOPs.
