As many as 16 beneficiaries from various parts of Manipur will get around Rs 31 lakh medical assistance under the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF), following the recommendation of Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba.
A release stated that as recommended by the MP Sanajaoba, 16 beneficiaries from the hills and valley districts of the state will get around Rs 31 lakh medical assistance under the PMNRF. Extending gratitude to PM Modi for granting the medical assistance, Sanajaoba informed that the Centre has granted a total amount of Rs 30,95,500 to the 16 beneficiaries of the state under the PMNRF, it stated.
Of the 16 beneficiaries, 10 are undergoing cancer treatment; four are renal transplant patients and two are undergoing aplastic anaemia treatment, it mentioned. MP Sanajaoba extended well wishes for speedy recovery of the beneficiaries, it continued.
It further stated that PMNRF is a fund fully collected from the public without any allocation from the government, for the support of people affected by natural and manmade disasters.
“Natural disasters covered under PMNRF include flood, cyclone and earthquake etc, and manmade disasters include major accidents, acid attacks and riots etc,” it read. The fund is also allotted to the people for treatment like cancer, kidney transplantation, heart surgery etc, it added.
