Left Parties to hold nationwide protest against fuel price hike

The Left Parties said that it will hold a nationwide protest for the whole last week of June, subject to lockdown conditions of each place, in protest against the central government’s alleged indifference to the price hike of petrol and diesel in the country.

Despite the price of crude oil per barrel decreasing to 34.63 US dollars, the increase in price of petrol and diesel consecutively for 19 days has added more woes to the poor farmers of the country, said a release. The farmers are left in more debt trying to buy oil in order to use the tractors and pumpsets, it said.

The left parties already held a nationwide protest on June 22 but the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government still did nothing to control the oil marketing companies setting the price of oil, it added.
