The 2nd Cultural Workers and Activists Forum (CWAF) festival 2022 is set to be celebrated from October 6 onwards in four different districts of Manipur.
Addressing the media at the Manipur Press Club on Tuesday, president of CWAF Buddha Chingtham said that the second edition of CWAF will be inaugurated at Kanglei Mime Theatre Repertory, Langthabal Kunja, Imphal West on October 6 by Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba. The second day of the festival will be held at Kakching followed by Ukhrul and will conclude at Tamenglong, he said.
He further said that during the festival various cultural performances will be showcased, such as Khongjom Parva, Thang-Ta, Manipur Classical Dance, Dhol- Dholok Cholom and Dancing Drum to name a few.
He said that CWAF is an apex body of cultural organisations of Manipur formed in 2018 with an aim to promote, revitalise, strengthen and to preserve cultural activities of different nature. The forum would create a platform to encourage artists and also help to create cultural awareness, he said.
Buddha Chingtham informed that due to COVID-19, they were unable to organise the festival for two years. But this time the festival is all set to be held as the condition of pandemic is almost under control, he said while calling on the people of the state to enjoy the festival.
