Well-known Indian fashion designer Sharbari Dutta died of stroke at her home in Kolkata, according to reports. She was 63.
Family sources was quoted as saying that Sharbari was found dead at her home in South Kolkata’s Broad Street Thursday evening and the doctors stated stroke as the reason for her death. She lived alone and her family found her dead in the washroom. Her body has been sent for post-mortem, according to reports.
Daughter of famous Bengali poet Ajit Dutta, Sharbari and her brand Shunyaa is a household name in Kolkata fashion industry, especially in men's ethnic wear with designs that are a unique blend of ethnicity with modernity.
The fashion fraternity expressed grief and shock on her passing away. She is survived by her son Amalin Dutta, who is also a fashion designer.
