The Thadou Inpi Kangpokpi District has urged the general public of Saitu assembly constituency to exercise their franchise free and fair without any fear during the November 7 poll.
A press communiqué signed by chairman of Thadou Inpi Kangpokpi, Thangliensei Kipgen and it secretary, Seikhojang Sitlhou said that as an apex body of the Thadou tribe in Kangpokpi district, Thadou Inpi do not support or oppose either candidate in the ensuing by-election to Saitu assembly constituency as the two contesting candidates, namely, Ngamthang Haokip of BJP and Lamtinthang Haokip of INC are both from the Thadou community.
The apex body clarified that it has no knowledge of the press release from TSA General Headquarters in support of BJP candidates in Saitu by-election and urged everyone for a free and fair voting.
It also said that nobody from Thadou civil bodies including TSA is entrusted to make any press release in connection with the by-election without the consent of the Thadou Inpi Kangpokpi District.
