Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Ngamthang Haokip leads with 10,866 votes against INC candidate Lamtinthang Haokip in the ninth round of the vote counting in 51-Saitu assembly constituency, Kangpokpi district, Manipur.
In ninth round BJP candidate Ngamthang Haokip secured 2,236 votes and INC candidate Latminthang Haopkip secured 1,334 votes. Total number of votes at the end of ninth round is BJP- 22,161 and INC- 11,295.
In eighth round BJP secured 2,911 votes while INC secured 608. In the end of eighth round, BJP got 19,925 and INC got 9,961 votes.
In the seventh round BJP secured 2377 votes while INC secured 1185. Total number votes till the end of seventh round is BJP -17,014 and INC- 9353.
In the sixth round Ngamthang Haokip secured 3,397 votes while Lamtinthang Haokip got 1,225 and NOTA - 19. The total number of votes till the sixth round of counting is BJP -14,647 votes, INC- 8,168 and NOTA - 92.
In the fifth round result, the BJP candidate got 2,009 votes while INC's Lamtinthang Haokip got 1,895.
In the fourth round, BJP's Ngamthang Haokip got 2,233 while Lamtinthang Haokip of INC got 849 votes.
While the BJP candidate got 2,687 votes in the third round, Lamtinthang Haokip got 1,484 vote and NOTA-19. The total number of votes till the third round of counting is BJP - 6,998, INC- 4,199.
In the second round BJP's Ngamthang Haokip secured 1,514 votes while INC's Lamtinthang Haokip got 1,745 votes.
BJP candidate Ngamthang Haokip was leading in the first round with 2,799 and INC candidate Lamtinthang Haokip 969 votes.
On Monday, the Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress Committee organised a rally at Kangpokpi HQ, demanding re-poll at Saitu assembly constituency, alleging the supporters of Saitu INC candidate Lamtinthang Haokip were prevented from voting on November 7.
In Saitu 91.59 per cent vote was cast.
