The Kuki National Front (KNF) has declared free and fair voting in the upcoming by-election of the state. “As we declare free and fair election, the public should cast their vote freely without any fear of repercussion from the organisation,” said secretary of Information and Publicity, KNF, Lh Stephen. He also said that KNF under the United People’s Front (UPF) is engaged in political dialogue with the governments to find a solution to the age-old political issue of the Kukis. The government as well as the Kuki armed groups will hopefully be able to protect the traditional land rights of the Kukis, culture and customs by forming Kukiland Territorial Council in Manipur under the provisions of the sixth schedule of the Constitution of India, he added.
