UPSC Examinations: How to apply online

Here's all you need to know about online application for various examinations conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), India

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts several examinations throughout the year for the recruitment to various posts in Central government services in the country such as recruitment in the Indian Administrative Services, Indian Forest Service and Indian Foreign Service among others. One can apply online for the various UPSC examinations. If you are a civil service aspirant, here's all you need to know about online application for various UPSC examinations.

Quick steps to applying online for UPSC exams

1. Visit the UPSC site https://www.upsc.gov.in/

2. Scroll down the homepage to the different sections mentioned

3. Under the category Examination, click on Online Application for Various Examinations of UPSC

4. Or, you can directly visit - https://upsconline.nic.in/upsc/mainmenu2.php, where you will find notification issued for various UPSC examinations

5. You may also click on the sub head - Current examinations to know all about the ongoing UPSC examinations, or click on 'Forthcoming Examinations' and visit these links frequently to stay updated about the various examinations.

The Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2021 was conducted on 7th, 8th, 9th, 15th and 16th January, 2022.

1. Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2022

2. Indian Forest Service (Preliminary) Examination, 2022 through CS(P) Examination 2022

3. Indian Economic Service - Indian Statistical Service Examination, 2022

The UPSC stated in a release that to commemorate the monumental occasion of the 75th Anniversary of Indian Independence, to be part of this grand celebration and a step in this direction, the Union Public Service Commission has opened a ‘HELPLINE’ (Toll Free Number 1800118711) with the objective to assist the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), who have applied/ or are intending to apply for the Commission’s Examinations/ Recruitments.

The Helpline will remain operational on all working days (during the office hours). The candidates of above categories facing any difficulty in filling up the application form of any Examination/ Recruitment or for any queries concerning the Commission’s Examinations/ Recruitments, may contact this dedicated Helpline for assistance, the UPSC stated.
