Teachers’ Day celebrated across Tamenglong

At the Red Shield Centre for Excellence, also known as ‘Manipur Super 50’ in Bishnupur, students, with support from the Indian Army, hosted an event to honour and felicitate their teachers, stated a release.

Various private and government schools in Tamenglong district widely celebrated Teachers’ Day at their respective institutions on Thursday.

Gifts were presented to the teachers during the celebrations where students at respective schools performed talent shows and paid their respects and honoured their teachers.

Meanwhile, local MLA Janghemlung Panmei also greeted all the teachers in his assembly constituency.

“On the special occasion of Teacher’s Day, I have the great pleasure of extending my warm greetings and felicitations to all the teachers throughout India who are constantly engaged in strengthening the intellectual and ethical foundations of Children, youth, society and our country,” he stated in his message.

He urged all the citizens to acknowledge the tireless efforts and sacrifices of all the teachers. “I wish them joy, peace, good health and successful careers,” Panmei said.

Indian Army commemorates Teachers’ Day

The Indian Army observed Teachers’ Day by organising a series of events across Manipur to celebrate the invaluable contributions of educators and strengthen ties with local communities.

At the Red Shield Centre for Excellence, also known as ‘Manipur Super 50’ in Bishnupur, students, with support from the Indian Army, hosted an event to honour and felicitate their teachers, stated a release.  

It stated that the event included recreational activities that helped cultivate a spirit of gratitude and strengthened the bond between students and educators. A similar celebration took place at the Primary School in Ngankhalwai, Bishnupur, where students expressed their gratitude by honouring their teachers, followed by a series of enjoyable activities that further connected students and teachers, it mentioned.

In Zalenphai, Churachandpur district, a special ceremony was held at ‘The Living Water High School,’ where teachers were recognised for their dedication, in addition, stationery and sports items were distributed to approximately 180 students, it stated.

At Leimakhong, the Army organised a series of events aimed at strengthening the bond between students and teachers. A total of 13 teachers and 40 students from Omega English School, Leimakhong village, along with 15 teachers and 200 students from Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 3, Leimakhong, actively participated in these functions, it mentioned.  

The events included an inspiring lecture emphasizing the crucial role of education and teachers in shaping the future of students. Cultural programmes were held at both schools, featuring group dances, group songs, solo performances and mimicry, where students showcased their talents with enthusiasm, it stated.

The Indian Army remains dedicated to engaging with and uplifting local communities through its initiatives, continuing to promote education and contribute to the overall development and well-being of society, it added.
