The students also submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of Kakching, urging swift action to address these issues.

After meeting with the Deputy Commissioner, Class 12 Science student Okram Francis reported that the school has 1,000 enrolled students with 42 teaching staff out of the 70 positions sanctioned. He claimed that the severe shortage of teachers is adversely affecting the academic environment.

Meanwhile, Class 11 Commerce student Salam Sonia highlighted additional concerns, including a lack of infrastructure such as a library, laboratory rooms, and lab attendants, as well as shortages of maintenance staff including gardeners and sweepers. She pointed out that although three new teachers were appointed on July 25 following previous memorandums to the Education Minister and Education Commissioner, they have yet to report to the school.

Criticising the authorities for their lack of response to the class boycott that began on July 29, Sonia stressed that their inaction is jeopardizing the students’ academic progress.

She further warned of intensified protests involving parents and guardians if the authorities continue to ignore the students’ demands.
