SSUM to help students from poor families in Manipur

The Socialist Students' Union of Manipur (SSUM) celebrated its 7th Foundation Day on Monday and distributed essential items to children home in Imphal East.

Every possible measures will be taken to help students of Manipur who belong to economically backward families, the Socialist Students' Union of Manipur (SSUM) said as it celebrated its 7th Foundation Day celebration in Imphal East Monday.

The SSUM donated essential items and study materials to Yaibilen Children Home, Keibi Khullen in Imphal East.

Following the ideology of Jananeta Hijam Irabot, the student's body will take up every possible steps to make an egaliterian society, said SSUM president S Yaima while speaking to the media.

He stated that SSUM will also take up every possible measures to extend aid to all the students of Manipur who belong to economically backward families in one form or other. 

The student's body has been taking proactive role in various issues since its establishment, he said extending gratidude to the public for supporting the SSUM for the last seven years.

In the afternoon, the SSUM also organised a blood donation camp at JNIMS in Imphal East under the theme, "Oja Singidamak Katthoklaba E."
