The Democratic Students’ Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has appealed to select only the teachers who have fulfilled their UGC criteria from the existing teachers of the colleges under DM University as its faculty.
Due to the absence of teachers in the university, it is mainly run by teachers of the colleges under the university, a press release stated.
However, the state government should allow only the teachers who are qualified in all the criteria of the UGC, it stated. The steps should be taken by January 18 and the selected teachers must be disclosed in white paper, it added.
The student body will take up agitations if the state government fails to materialise their demands, it further stated while appealing to resolve the present issues in the administration of DM University regarding transferring of two teachers of DM College of Arts.
